SolarCAT, Inc. (SCI) is developing the critical solar dish engine technology for its breakthrough SCI System. SolarCAT (Solar Compressed Air Turbine) is the next generation of concentrating solar power (CSP) technology that will help solve our energy crisis and give utilities a reliable and affordable renewable energy option.
Together with this technology, the SCI System utilizes compressed air energy storage (CAES) and clean fuels to efficiently store and generate renewable energy that can be used to power small communities or entire cities. By combining the benefits of CSP with CAES, the SCI System is an integrated energy application with components that complement each other to enable intermittent renewable technologies, such as wind power, to provide cost-effective and reliable renewable energy that can better meet utility load demands.
SCI is working closely with Brayton Energy LLC on the development of the SCI Power Conversion Unit. SCI’s sister company, Southwest Solar Technologies, is the project developer for the first SCI System projects, which will be located in Arizona.
